As Veterinarian, Dr. Blackwell’s responsibilities are to provide quality health care services to clients and their pets. As the owner of Maple Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Blackwell establishes hospital goals and standards.
MVH Employment:

Dr. Blackwell purchased Maple Veterinary Hospital in December 1994.
Education:

Dr. Blackwell graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He also has a degree in Microbiology.
Dr. Blackwell graduated from the University of Michigan College of Business with a Masters of Business Administration in 1985.
Work Experience:

Dr. Blackwell has been a practicing veterinarian since 1975. He has worked at several small animal hospitals and veterinary emergency services prior to purchasing Maple Veterinary Hospital.

Advisory Board: Dr. Blackwell is a member of the Baker College of Clinton Township Veterinary Technology Advisory Board.   As an Advisory Board member, Dr. Blackwell provides professional insight, guidance, and feedback that is used to design and implement Veterinary Technology educational opportunities that will prepare students for a career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Interests:

Dr. Blackwell collects hostas and takes pride in his home garden. He also has an interest in exotic animals and reptiles.
Family:

Dr. Blackwell and his wife, Cathy, enjoy spending quality time with their African Grey Parrot, Jeff, and their cat, Ares.
