Michael Derkevorkian , DVM

As Veterinarian, Dr. Mike's responsibilities are to provide quality health care services to clients and their pets. As the owner of Maple Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Mike establishes hospital goals and standards.

Dr. Mike purchased Maple Veterinary Hospital in June, 2010. He graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mike has worked at several small animal hospitals and veterinary emergency services prior to purchasing Maple Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Mike has a special interest in surgery and internal medicine. Some of the surgeries that Dr. Mike has a special interest in include knee surgery (MRIT), ear surgery (TECABO) and a variety of other surgeries such as limb amputation, liver and bladder surgery and soft tissue surgery.  He also has a special interest in auto-immune diseases.   This special interest developed as a young vet school student while his mother was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, which is an auto-immune disease.  His mother fought hard against the disease for roughly 20 years, and eventually lost her battle in 2008. Dr.Mike has also brought a unique service to Maple Veterinary Hospital since he bought the practice. That service is In-Home Humane euthanasia.  We all know how difficult this time is for the family of a pet, and Dr. Mike wants everyone to have all the options available to make this difficult time a little less difficult.

In his free time, Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Amanda and two daughters, Millei (5), and Libby (3).  He is also an avid Spartan Fan!


Pam Smith , DVM

As Veterinarian, Dr. Smith's responsibilities are to provide quality health care services to clients and their pets. Dr. Smith has been a key part of the Maple Veterinary Hospital medical team since the practice opened in December, 1994. She graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980.

Dr. Smith is an excellent clinician and surgeon who has been a practicing veterinarian in Southeast Michigan since 1980. She is an expert in breeding and pregnancy. She is also very well versed in behavioral training. Dr. Smith is affiliated with the Huron River Labrador Retriever Club and the National Labrador Retriever Club.

Dr. Smith is an avid reader and movie goer. She also enjoys training her dogs for obedience, conformation, and field work. Dr. Smith's dogs have gone on to become service dogs for Leader Dog and drug detection dogs for law enforcement agencies. Dr. Smith is very involved with breeding, training and showing her Labradors and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Over the years, many of Dr. Smith's faithful companions have achieved "Champion" titles.


Lorrie Dibenedetto , DVM

As a Veterinarian, Dr. DiBenedetto's (Dr. D) responsibilities are to provide quality health care services to clients and their pets. Dr. DiBenedetto joined the Maple Veterinary Hospital medical team in March, 2003. She graduated from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.

Dr. D also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wayne State University. Dr. D is an outstanding clinician and surgeon who has been a practicing veterinarian in Southeast Michigan since 1995. She is also very well versed in radiology and ultrasound imagining. Dr. D has taken several seminars on ultrasound imaging,  and continues to have a special interest in it.

Dr. DiBenedetto's family, especially her young sons and daughters, keep her very busy with their school activities as well as their extracurricular activities. She is also very involved with her extended family and is an active member of her church. Dr. D and her husband, Ed, along with their two sons and two daughters, have opened their home and hearts to their cat, Frenchie, and their dog, Riley.


Kera Sinclair, DVM

Dr. Sinclair attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies and obtained a degree in Biology and Education. She graduated from the college veterinary medicine in 2006. Dr. Sinclair spent three months in India working with exotics including elephants and monkeys during her time at MSU.

Dr. Sinclair brings a wealth of experience in emergency medicine and general practice.   She is also certified in acupuncture. Dr. Sinclair has worked with a number of volunteer organizations such as the Animal Cruelty Society in downtown Chicago.

In her free time she enjoys photography, scrapbooking, watching college basketball and spending time with her family. Dr. Sinclair and her husband Mark have three wonderful 2 -legged children Owen, Conor, Evan and two 4-legged children Izzy (terrier mix) and Stella (cockapoo).
