Putting Your Pet’s Healthcare First!!!ä
June 12, 2010
Dear Client:
I am writing to let you know that I am
retiring after 35 years in practice. I have loved my career but
it is time for Cathy and me to have a slower-paced lifestyle.
Maple Veterinary Hospital has been the
highlight of my career. It has been my pleasure to care for
your pets over the years. The bonds I have formed with my
clients have been very special to me. I am so grateful that you
have entrusted me to provide your family pet with medical care.
I have so many fond memories of the patients I have treated over
the years. I will treasure these memories throughout my
retirement years.
It has been my good fortune to be blessed
with an outstanding staff of very talented individuals. Dr.
Smith and Dr. DiBenedetto will be available to continue
providing medical care for your pets. The licensed veterinary
technicians and receptionists who have provided you with
excellent care over the years will be here to assist you as they
have in the past. These familiar faces will provide you with a
continuance of feeling at home when you walk through the doors
of Maple Veterinary Hospital.
I was so proud of my staff and grateful to
all of our clients when Maple Veterinary Hospital was voted
Detroit’s number one veterinary hospital in the 2009 WDIV For
The Best contest. It has been an excellent celebration for me
during these last few months. I will be ever grateful to you
for providing me with this special memory.
On June 14, 2010, I sold my practice to a
younger veterinarian. His name is Dr. Michael DerKevorkian and
he goes by Dr. Mike. He is a general practitioner, just like
me. Plus, he brings new skills to Maple Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Mike is an experienced emergency medicine doctor. He is
also an orthopedic surgeon so we will now be able to offer our
patients orthopedic surgery options here, at Maple Veterinary
Hospital, rather than referring all of our orthopedic patients
to specialty centers where the surgical costs are significantly
higher.
Dr. Mike also brings a new level of energy
and enthusiasm to the practice. Cathy has referred to him as a
young me since he has the same spirited edge as I did at his
age. I think he is very personable so I’d like for you to meet
him and form a long-lasting acquaintanceship with him. He will
care for your pets with the same compassion and quality medicine
as I did. I am leaving Maple Veterinary Hospital in the very
capable and compassionate hands of Dr. Mike, Dr. Smith and Dr.
DiBenedetto.
Thanks for the memories,

Stanley M. Blackwell,
